Chronic Eczema - International trial conducted by MK Sastry

International trial was performed for chronic  Eczema as co morbid with Post cva paralysis patient using Dry needle and Broadman Area and Acu point 

Its common to see cva patient specially spastic or flaccid paralysis on bed and because of bedridden stage skin diseases likely to flareup such as eczema 

 

Control Trial was carried on 6 countries with my student to select control study have a sample size of 60 patient with co morbidity of Eczema in spastic paralysis patient . 

Sample selection and basis . 60 patient were identified in 6 countries to treat eczema using Acupuncture based on TCM principles. And few broadman area for skull surface based stimulation , 

Reaserch study was carried on only post cva patient with co morbidity of eczema during post stroke period. 

Based on various expert opinion and litreature review few Acupoints were selected . Accomodating depression and diet control and advise rhythmic breathing exercise. 

Treatment Period  . 

Twenty days treatment was descided for patient as per established protocol. 

And thereafter it was withdrawn 

Results 45 patients turned to recover about 70 to 80 % recover , 10 patient with 50 to 60 % recovery , 5 patient withdraw the treatment.

Conclusions of recovery was made by team of 4 international Dermatologist of pannel were from  different countries and nither patient nor treating Physician who are medical doctors who participated in trial  knew the skin experts. 

Further montly observation was made for 6 months , patient sustain recovery ..

No other conservative treatment was provided during the period for eczema 

Conclusion. This sample was very small to conclude , but yet it gives another pathway to understand , to create self recovery in the patient , where the present drug list cannot be applied due to various medical conditions. 

This study also gives us understanding that traditional methods can be medically applied for treatment of skin diseases like  eczema . And large trial should be carried.
